GOALS AND ACTIVITIES

1. The Goals of the Hungarian Corporate Compliance Society (HCCS)

  • Reinforcing the ethical corporate conduct and culture of compliance in Hungary, in particular by
    1. promotion and support of the concept of sustainable corporate governance in the professional community;
    2. raising compliance awareness and disseminating relevant knowledge in the corporate and professional communities;
    3. an extensive and comprehensive presentation of the opinions of various professionals about compliance risks, challenges and related issues in Hungary, from the aspects of the present and future effects on corporate conduct;
    4. introducing the value of and promoting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);
    5. promoting and embracing the complex and progressive thinking concerning corporate ethics and compliance.
  • Scientific and practical examination and study of corporate misconduct, prevention, investigation and remediation.

2. IN CONNECTION WITH IT’S GOALS, THE HCCS CARRIES OUT IN PARTICULAR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES

 

  • Serving as a forum for compliance professionals to exchange their opinions and share their experience about the practical side of corporate compliance;
  • Concentration of expertise and helping to build professional relationships both in corporate compliance and related areas;
  • Assisting its members with general professional questions to mitigate and resolve the risks emerging in members’ field of expertise and work;
  • Monitoring the national and international regulations related to corporate misconducts, drawing conclusions based on the recent developments and presenting them to the professional community;
  • Promoting best practices in effective investigation of corporate misconduct, monitoring and commenting on the evolution of regulations;
  • Proposing specific solutions and promoting their implementation in Hungarian regulatory and corporate environments;
  • Keeping members up-to-date with specific and general compliance risk management solutions viable also in the digital age;
  • Examining the regulations and enforcement from the aspect of corporate autonomy, serving as a forum for the relative professional and social discussions;
  • Promoting companies’ interest in relation to sustainable and foreseeable economic development;
  • Raising the community’s voice in the interest of empowering companies in protecting their own interest in case of misconducts in general and in particular against corporate wrongdoers;
  • Analyzing the internal and external enforcement in relation to corporate compliance from legal, economic and social aspects in order to help advance the compliance profession in Hungary;
  • Serving as a professional forum by organizing events, conferences and round-table discussions, facilitating domestic and international networking among compliance professionals;
  • Publishing statements, position papers, press releases, scientific papers, legislative proposals, professional standards, models and recommendations in relation to corporate compliance and relative regulations;
  • Participating in academic life and higher education in order to enhance the compliance awareness and progressive approach among future compliance professionals;
  • Cooperation with a broad range of stakeholders, including private and public organizations, to disseminate know-how in relation to compliance risks and appropriate conduct.
